Oops,we missed a month,trying to dig our way out of the snow!
But we can now see bare ground and it is starting to dry up a bit!
Got to think positive:) And we have been fortunate not to have damage from the winds and snow as some have.
We have approximately 4000 little plants of broccoli,cabbage,kale,collard greens(New to us this year) and cauliflower at various stages of growth.And the celery and celeriac and onions of course are doing well.It is amazing to me that it has been such a long winter and yet here it is time to plant again.We are not going to be able to match the early outside planting of the last two years on April 19th of spinach and lettuce,peas and carrots but soon...very soon:)
We can actually see our strawberry patch again ,it has been buried under heaps of snow,looking forward to that yummy time!We tend to measure our time by what is in season,LOL.
Every year is just as fascinating and pleasing as the previous.
As part of being certified organic with our vegetables we keep track of everything we do,so I have a "garden/field journal."
Maybe it is an age thing...???...but I think I can remember everything from year to year,but not so!!!!
I love looking back to check on times we planted,along with varieties and how they did,it has become a great and resourceful tool for us.
